【摘要】:Thistestmethodissuitableforqualitycontrol,asaspecificationtestandforresearch.Theurethanereactionbetweenpolyolsandisocyanatestoformpolyurethanepolymersisknowntobesensitivetothepresenceofbasicsubstances.Thisisparticularlyimportantinthepreparationofpolyurethaneprepolymerswhichcontainisocyanategroupsthatareknowntoreactinthepresenceoftraceamountsofbasicsubstances.Sincemanypolyetherpolyolsareoftenmadewithstronglybasiccatalysts,itisimportanttohaveananalyticalmethodcapableofdetectingsmallquantitiesofresidualbasicsubstances.Thistestmethodiscapableofdetectingppmlevelsofbase(asKOH).31.1Thistestmethodcoversmeasuringalkalinityinlow-alkalinity(0.002meq/gbasicity)polyols.ThisalkalinityisoftenexpressedasCPR(controlledpolymerizationrate)ofpolyetherpolyols.Thistestmethodisnotapplicabletoamine-basedpolyols.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Note1ThereisnosimilarorequivalentISOstandard.
