【摘要】:Thiscompilationofstandardsisintendedtoprovideassistanceinselectingappropriatetestsforevaluatingwater-reduciblecoatingsandfordeterminingwhatcharacteristicsshouldbeconsideredforagivenenduse.Eithersingle-coatoperationsormulticoatsystemsmaybeaddressedbytheproperselectionoftests.Resultsfromthevarioustestsarenotallnecessarilyusefulinevaluatingtheperformanceofdifferentsystemsforvariousenduses.Thelistcanbeusefultothosedevelopingcoatingsandcoatingsystemsandtothoseseekingcoatingsystemsforproducts.1.1Thisguidecoverstheselectionanduseofproceduresfortestingwater-reduciblecoatings,bothpigmentedandclear,utilizingsyntheticlatices,syntheticresinemulsions,orwater-reduciblealkyds.ThemethodsincludedarelistedinTable1.Wheremorethanonestandardislistedforthesamecharacteristic,noattemptismadetoindicatesuperiorityofonestandardoveranother.Selectionofthestandardstobefollowedmustbegovernedbyexperienceandtherequirementsineachindividualcase,togetherwithagreementbetweenproduceranduser.1.2Thisguidecoversthetestingofliquidcoatingsasappliedbyconventionalspray,airlessspray,electrostaticspray,dip,fancoat,flowcoat,rollercoat,andcurtaincoat.1.3Thisguideincludesproceduresrelatingtoproperandsafepackaging,shippingandreceiving,andstorageandhandlingduringuseandapplication.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
