【摘要】:1.1Recently,therehasbeenwidespreaduseoftheInternetbythehealthcareindustrytorepresentinformation.MuchofthesuccessoftheInternetcanbeattributedtotheWorldWideWeb(WWW)anditsbrowsingsystem,whichmakeitpossibletonavigatetheInternetbypointingandclicking.Webpages,electronicdocumentslocatedontheInternet,arepublishedtoacomputerscreenbyabrowser.ThesepagesaredevelopedusingHyperTextMarkupLanguage(HTML).1.1.1ThenextgenerationoftheWWWandwebpageshasarrivedwiththespecificationofeXtensibleMarkupLanguage(XML).JustlikeHTML,XMLcandefinehowpagesappearinwebbrowser.AdditionallyXMLprovidesacontextforinformation.WhileHTMLtellsthebrowserwhatapageshouldlooklike,XMLdefineswhatthepieceofinformationactuallymeans.BothHTMLandXMLaremarkuplanguages;thatis,theyinsertmarkup,oradditionalinformation,intotext.Themarkupisknownasatag.Forexample,HTMLmarksuptextonapagebyinsertingaB>tagwhenthetextshouldbeboldedandbyinsertingaH1>tagaroundthefirstheadingofawebpage.InHTML,thereisnowaytodistinguishbetweenamedicalrecordnumberorantelephonenumberbecausetheyarebothtaggedB>forbold.XML,ontheotherhand,markseachitemwithspecialtagssothatcomputerscantellthedifference.WithXML,humansandcomputerscantellthedifferencebetweenaDIAGNOSIS>tagandSYMPTOM>oraMedical.Record.Number>fromaPhone.Number>.1.1.2ThenamesofthetagsandtherulesforusingthemarecontainedintheDTDorDocumentTypeDefinition(DTD).TheDTDdescribesthestructureofthedocumentanddefinesthenamesoftagsitcontains.Additionally,theDTDdeclarestheorderinwhichthetagsoccurandhowoftenthetagscanappear;thatis,theDTDdefinesthehierarchyofthetags.ADTDforaprescriptionmightcontainstructuralelementsforthemedicationprescribed,thedosage,theform,thequantity,andsoforth.1.2ThisguideprovidesacompendiumofinformationfortheuseofE2183XMLDTDswithinhealthcare.Thisguidedescribesdesignconsiderations,thearchitectureoftheDTDs,andimplementingsystemsusingtheE2183DTDs.1.3ThisguidereferstoandmakesuseofrecommendationsfromtheWorldWideWebconsortium,theW3C(http://www.w3.org).1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatoryrequirementspriortouse.
